Scalpel's 2022 Undergraduate Surgical Conference will be based on the theme 'The Future of Our Scalpel'

The conference will be held in-person AND broadcasted online on MedAll on November 12th, 2022. The in-person conference will be held at University Place, University of Manchester.

There will be a range of inspiring keynote speeches, hands-on breakout workshop sessions and opportunities to present your research. In-person delegates will be able to receive small-group teaching and wet labs on practical skills such as basic surgical skills, skin flaps, tendon repair, laparoscopy, chest drain, bowel anastomosis and more. Online delegates will be able to tune into keynote talks and breakouts broadcasted in real-time, interact through a live chat and present their work on the virtual poster hall.

Introduction to 'The Future of Our Scalpel'

Surgery has developed and grown extensively throughout history and continues to evolve to solve ever-changing medical challenges.

In the future, surgery will be a synergic collaboration between surgeons, digital technology, machines and robots.

This conference will aim to explore the possibilities of 'The Future of Our Scalpel' and inspire medical students to engage in surgical innovation.
