Summary

This in-person conference, supported by the Scottish Intensive Care Society (SICS), will empower critical care health professionals to facilitate improved patient health outcomes. Showcasing some of the latest developments in critical care, the programme includes education, research and service provision from within the Scottish and wider UK critical care community. Learn from acclaimed specialists in their field, and network with peer groups to acquire new knowledge and build on existing expertise. This meeting offers a unique opportunity to benefit from a day of shared teaching and learning, whilst helping to facilitate improved patient care and shape the future for our multidisciplinary critical care workforce.

Learning objectives

1. Attendees will be able to describe current clinical and legal-ethical aspects of critical care practices. 2. Attendees will be able to identify established and emerging evidence related to critical care best practices. 3. Attendees will understand the various forms of collaboration, engagement and communication across the health care systems in Scotland and the UK. 4. Attendees will develop strategies for implementation of best practices in a Scottish and UK critical care setting. 5. Attendees will gain increased knowledge of current developments in research and educational initiatives within critical care units across Scotland.
